MagPie
Hello everyone!
I'm MagPie! I was named it for the bird marking on my chest and my white and black colouring.
But I go by Maggie, because I am more of a goof and MagPie doesn't really suit me yet. Kind of like when a baby is named Bob, or Marge they dont really grow into their names until they are older. And plus, I like Maggie better.
I am six months old and I am a BIG GIRL. My foster mom says I am going to keep growing until I am so big I will need a couch of my own. Right now I am eating 4 - 5 cups of NOW large breed puppy food every day. I am a...wait for it....
Great Pyrenees x Anatolian Shepherd x Black Lab x Bull mastiff mix. (This may not be correct, but this is my foster moms best guess from lots of Google images comparison and breed research.)
WOW what a combo hey? I don't mind it because my foster mom and aunt say I am so adorable every day that it gives me a bit of an ego boost. I am mostly all black with three cute white toes, four wiggly dew claws on my back feet and one white sock. I have big floppy ears and a funny donut tail that wiggles around like a noodle when I am happy.
I am a really good girl. I get along really well with dogs, cats, horses, chickens etc, and people of all kinds. I can coexist in a busy household FULL of wild kids without getting stressed out because I love, love, LOVE kids. They are my life's purpose and if I see just one, I will go purposefully out of my way to go give that kid a BIG smooch and snuggle. (And of course ask to play too.) I also LOVE the snow SO INCREDIBLY MUCH. I would roll and sleep in it all day if I could. On walks especially, I love rolling in it to cool off or to annoy my foster mom on a walk, as the leash often gets tangled around me. And speaking of walks, I walk pretty good on the leash, but only when I am wearing an "Easy Walk." It slows me down and I don't pull as much. Because on a walk my nose tells me that I need to always be on a mission (Especially when there is HUGE piles of snow to climb and roll in) and I do tend to pull, so an easy walk is mandatory. I am very good off leash; when my nose hasn't distracted me with something; I have amazing recall. I like walks just like any dog, but I hate being tied up so a place with no yard and a lazy owner is not what I need or want. I would like to go to a home with lots of land for me to roam and protect as I have a lot of Pyr characteristics. I also have a great big bark and I like to let anyone with ears know how awesome it sounds (which is also very Pyr). So city life is not for me because I love barking a lot. It's apart of who I am and I need the freedom to let it out whenever I want. The only times where I shouldn't bark is when my foster mom has food, I know I shouldn't, but I do it anyway because I love food and I want her to share it all with me.
I am kennel trained and I can hold my potty for a long time without messing my crate or kennel. I am very proud of this. But I would prefer if I didn't have to be crated all the time. I like to be outside with my animal and human friends.
I have a best friend named Onyx, he's only 4 1/2 but he acts like a grandpa so my foster mom often calls him "Grandpa Jack." Just for his snarky quirks. He is a good teacher though. He is helping teach me how to chase rabbits and squirrels, how to poop in corners, not to jump when I am excited (even though he does it all the time...) and he often steals chew toys from me and sits on them, then turns around and begs me to play with him by yodeling and shoving toys in my face. He's a funny guy and I really like him, we play a lot and often sleep together on our foster moms bed.
I also have an Instagram because I'm just so cute! So whoever adopts me has the freedom to take over the account to help grow my fame!
Things I need:
1. A big house with lots of room that includes lots of outside room as well (An Acerage, farm, ranch or large property). This is highly important and my foster mom will not let me go home to anything less. As I am a big girl, I need to explore and roam or I will get bored and destructive. I would rather be outside on a farm eating deer poop then inside watching tv about deers.
2. Daily walks and lots of off leash play time with dog friends are a must so I stay healthy and socialized.
3. KIDS and family. Honestly, the more the merrier. I am not a happy camper without them. So no home without kids. I want a big boisterous family please.
4. A dog friend or two. I am very social and a well socialized friend will help teach me the ropes and give me companionship.
5. Training and patience. Like all puppies I am still learning, and I do make mistakes. I am a pro at sitting so far!
6. A job for stimulation. I am a very smart girl and it is important for me to have something to do.
7. Good quality puppy food to help my growing bones. Preferably grain and corn free.
8. Large breed experience. As well as Pyrenees/Anatolian/bull mastiff experience or thorough research on all of the breeds.
9. Lots of things for me to chew on and play with as well as people interaction.
10. A forever promise that I will stay with you for my whole life.
Happy wags and slobbery kisses,
Maggie Moon.
